Masque I

The music box played "PSAPPHA", a music piece from Greek composer Xenakis written for poet Psappho. The music was written as very powerful percussion solo to describe the strength of her life. It's written on schedule drawing paper in a mathematical way, exactly like the tape for the music box. The transform from the mechanical sheet to the beautiful melody in the music box shows the fact at the same time she is as beautiful as the melody, as her poetries, which read in the middle of the performance. The transparent skin, the mask, and the emptiness when we take off everything, is always being played in the real life and fiction mind when we are not facing our soul.

It was performed at Art-U Gallery, Tokyo, 15 Dec 2006, with collaboration of artist Tsang Kin-wah and the Toho Gakuen theater school.
